Abstract:U.K. looks for a model to see what happens when they go for competition, choice, and compromise. The French government's intentions were similar to to the U.K.'s. At the same time it wanted to preserve culture and French TV and cinema production. The pattern of channels proposed by the UK Broadcasting White Paper is also similar. It can be seen that the competition can endanger the future of smaller channels, and hence the choice.
