Abstract:According to the latest announcement, by the end of 1995, the open counties and cities reached 1194, the first-class open ports 222 and the approved accumulated foreign-funded projects 258, 000 with a foreign investment of US$ 135.4 billion actually used in China. There were altogether 0.12 million foreign-funded enterprises. Since 1978 when China began to open to the outside world, it had made great progress in promoting the transformation of industries. The work of adjusting the structures of both domestic and foreign investment saw initial results. The supply capability of infrastructure, energy and communication and transformation industries was enhanced greatly, which had eased the problems in the structure of basic industries and the scale of industrial organizations.
