| Abstract: | The second half of 1996 can be regarded as a stage of recovery of a new economic growth cycle. The period from 1997 to 1998 seems to be the upward stage of this economic growth cycle; the period from 1998 to 1999 seems to be the downward stage of this cycle. The inflation rate may be high from 1998 and 1999. The valley of the cycle may come in 2000, when the economic growth rate reaches its lowest point, thus easing inflation. It is estimated that the peak of inflation in the "ninth-five-year plan" period will be around 18%, And our country will adopt an moderately tight monetary policy during the whole "ninth five-year plan" period so that the control of inflation will become a little bit easier. |
