| Abstract: | In the first half of 1998, Shenzhen city's accumulated GDP reached 54.881 billion yuan, up 14% over the same period of last year. But its grow rate declined slightly. The import and export growth slowed down and the utilized foreign investment reduced greatly. Securities market, however, presented a steadily spiral trend. According to forecast, the economic growth rate of Shenzhen in the second half of 1998 would be no less than that in the first half of the year under the pull of investment and consumption demand in spite of the weakening pulling force of export demand. But attention should be paid to the adjustment of export commodity composition, the increase of domestic demand in an effort to counteract the harmful influence arising from the weakening export of foreign trade. |
