Abstract: | The selection of indicators for turning Shenzhen city into an international city involves the following contents: politics, economy, society, culture, educational level, sci-tech level, residential level, infrastructure, environment and human development. From a comparison with Hong Kong and Singapore by using the standard parameters of the above indicators, the following principles may be drawn: Shenzhen city should draw close to Singapore for reaching the environment related target and incline to Hong Kong for reaching the market of city operational efficiency. In a word, to turn Shenzhen into an international city, there is still a long way to go due to the quite low level of internationalization which finds expression mainly in its weak ability of international financing. |
