| Abstract: | The challenges facing the World Bank in its core mission of promoting growth and reducing poverty remain as great as ever. While there has been progress in reducing poverty, continuing population growth makes the struggle an uphill one. The success of the Bank depends on its ability to maintain its focus on the broader role of international institutions: addressing the needs of collective action at a global level. |
