Abstract: | This paper reviews the issue of migration in the EU, in the context of ideas about globalization and post-national society. Some recent trends have challenged the self-contained autonomy of nation-state, and the conceptualization of such trends is globalization. One of it's defining features is the emergence of multinational and transnational institutions. In the traditional intellectual division of labor it has fallen to disciplines of law, international relations and political science. This paper explores their sociological significance through the issues raised by international population flows and policy responses in the context of EU. |
