| Abstract: | Risk management should be part of the integrated management sytem of any company. Consequently, the long term viability of a company requires not only the proper navigation of liquidity, profitability, existing and future potential of earnings but also last but not least a professional risk management. Independent of this very general statement, in particular for the engineering and contracting business a highly qualified risk management is absolutely necessary. Due to eventually high project related risk levels and in particular due to the potential enormous complexity of lump sum turn key contracts in the international engineering and contracting business a professional risk management is simply a precondition in order to secure a longterm viability of the contractor. |
