Abstract:Within the terms of this essay, based upon a case study from construction and engineering, the approach is described, how to analyze in a first step a defined order process on a basis of pre-analysis and in-depth study. In a second step the effects of complexity are pinpointed and in which circumstances these are related on. Equally ratios are defined and quantified to measure inefficiencies and their causes. The final step in the phase of analysis, on which indeed the main focus of this essay relies on, is responded to the definition and quantification of complexity-indexes which are to consider as indicators of complexity and their causes within a proces. By representing the indexes of complexity it is pointed out to split the residual index in further index parts.
