Abstract:This paper examines the effect of repeated negative feedback when couples decide whether to continue infertility treatment in the face of successive failures. The findings of this study indicate that even a short series of failure evokes expectations that future attemps will fail too. This is caused among others by causal attribution process and associative learning.
