Abstract:This paper aims at discussing a theoretical framework for increased integration of a company's communication (herein as: c-comm.) policy, corporate language policy (here as: c-l-p.) and corporate information portal (as: c-i-p.) with a view to easing c-comm. management. The paper draws on selected theoretical contributions on c-l-p. The empirical basis is a triangulation of questionnaire data, content analysis data and interview data. It is argued that c-comm. has not sufficiently included the operational part of a company's c-comm. The case for a theoretical integration framework is made based on van Riel's common starting points (CSPs). It is argued that c-comm. also needs to include the c-l-p. and the c-i-p. etc. A CSP-based theoretical integration framework is proposed.
