| Abstract: | This article deals with the challenges of depopulating the settlements along Russia's Northern periphery (here as: N.p.), Magadan city. Among others, dealt with are the impact of the Soviet Union's collapse on the N.p., the creation of assisted migration schemes, and the reasons of people wishing to remain in climatically inhospitable, increasingly expensive and marginal settlements. |
