Abstract:Cohort analysis is a method developed in demography. It analyses a population in three time dimensions, namely: age, point of time and cohort. Such a splitting of the population makes it possible to gain deeper insight as with simple aggregated time series analysis. The socalled cohort matrix containing all the three dimensions is estimated with dummy variable regression. The method is presented on the example of demand for tourism.
