| Abstract: | In this paper the author undertakes an empirical study of output data for the G7 countries to obtain further evidence on the data's time series properties to address some of the deficiencies. The analysis makes use of the statistical methods developed in Lee, Pesaran and Pierse (1992, 1993). These methods allow the persistence of shocks to countries' outputs to be investigated within a log-linear multivariate model incorporating the interdependencies that exist in international output determination, including the presence of common stochastic trends. |
