| Abstract: | In 1998, the output value in marine economy hit 8.5 billion yuan in Nantong City. In this and the following years, the marine industry has been targeted for 10 and 11. 5 billion yuan respectively. Therefore, the particularly adapted marine industry should be focused on sea water agriculture, further processing of water product and beach agriculture. The mechanism favorable for marine economic growth should be established. Actions to be taken include reform in state- and collective-owned enterprises, promoting popularly owned economy and scale operation, standardizing the pluralistic input mechanism, developing marine economy with science and technology, enhancing infrastructure construction and creating a fine environment for marine economic growth. |
