Abstract: | This article deals with embeddedness (hereafter as: embds.) in relationship (here as: r-ship.) networks as a key issue in the development of an international joint venture (IJV). IJVs are looked at from a perspective highlighting the role of network r-ships. and of networking behaviour. This perspective suggests that the development of an IJV is a process embedded in extensive networks of r-ships., driven by individual-level action for r-ship. building. This network action perspective to IJVs is dealt with through referring to a longitudinal case study of the 12-year development process of a greenfield equity IJV. Convincing, compromising, resourcing, internal organising and legitimizing are suggested as the behaviours associated with the changing of the relational embds. and the developing of the IJV. |
