Abstract:Investors eyeing the new South Africa have to bear in mind the legacy of years of apartheid, and the question mark over what happens when Nelson mandela retires. The international spotlight has been turned firmly on South Affrica over the past two years, given the country's remarkable change of power from a white minority government to black majority rule. Yet for many international observers, South Africa largely remains an unknown entity, particularly given the pace and extent of its recent political transformation.
