Abstract: | At the beginning the paper attempts to develop an analytical framework in order to better understand what e-business entails. By defining the concept and laying out the parameters of e-business, the author hopes to be able to better assess its potential for the apparel sector. The next section discusses the research methodology that was employed in the study. Then the paper provides an overview of the SA apparel sector, and critically discusses the potential of e-business for the SA clothing industry. After the author of the article reviews the retailers' and manufacturers' experiences of e-business respectively and presents a set of development policy implications. |
