| Abstract: | The aim of this article is to gain a better understanding about attitudes towards administration of protected areas in North-Sweden. The author investigated which institutions should make a decision about the region and its management: the state, the county administrative board, the municipality, the local population or the native Sami communities. The analyzed data was collected from a two-sample survey of 8868 respondents from the national, county and local level. According to findings, self- or co-management was the most desirable management alternative for national parks and reserves in the Swedish mountain region. |
