Abstract:Job-irrelevant discrimination appears to be as ubiquitous as the performance appraisals (hereafter as: perf. aprs.) in which it is commonly detected. This paper deals with both compliance-based and more proactive approaches dealing with the various possible discrimination sources in perf. aprs. ratings. The suggestions lead to a code of practice for perf. management in companies through national boundaries and cultures.
