Abstract:In order to manage workforce diversity and to prevent discrimination (here as: d-n.), diversity management is considered as a major part of strategic human resource management (HRM). This study aims to establish the dimensions of d-n. occuring due to demographic (as: dmic.) differences in Turkish manufacturing industry. It is found that dmic. characteristics, socio-cultural structure, managerial policy and behaviours, union tendency and regional differences,..., gender, differences in education and age, and political opinions influence on d-n. According to the results, d-n. has been observed mostly in job processes, e.g. promotions and appointments, human resource selection, job/employment examination and interviews, and performance appraisal.
