| Abstract: | Two experiments to test the hypothesis that assigned goals affect personal goals and task performance, providing normative information about the task, using 60 undergraduates in assigned performance goals, and 135 undergraduates working on a brainstorming task. Cognitive mechanisms, role of performance norm, a cognitive mediation model, the 2 models: method, subjects, design, procedure, measures, manipulation check, mediation hypothesis test and general discussion. Six Tables and a Figure illustrate the study. |
