| Abstract: | The conceptual foundations of the EC steel policy (the contact about the European Coal and Steel Community etc.) The international character of the contemporary steel crisis is shown. Its impact on capacity utilization and capacity reduction is analyzed. The claim to import restrictions in relations to the cheap steel from Eastern Europe is highlighted. The main instruments of government intervention within the framework of the economic policy are described. The lack of compulsory quotas and its consequences are considered. |
