Abstract:This paper focuses on the task of the product manager who is confronted with product design situations which call for the selection of the price for this resulting product. One of the problems is to decide on the features which are "base" and those which are "optional" and thus the appropriate base from which to offer options. A case history is presented for a leading manufacturer of electronic products in Europe who was interested in developing and marketing an innovative line of electronic home entertainment products.
