Abstract:In a recent Marketing Science paper (Buchanan and Henderson 1992), the authors discussed the different downwardly biasing assumptions required by three paired-comparison discrimination measures. In this addendum, the authors present a measure of discrimination ability that is free of the downwardly biasing assumptions of previous discrimination measures. The authors discuss the magnitude of the bias in the previous measures, the reliability of all the measures, intercorrelations among them, and their appropriate uses.
