| Abstract: | China's steel output totalled 158,000 tons in 1949 and reached 91,530,000 tons in 1994, leaping to the second position in the world (only after Japan). For the 46 years, the iron and steel industry had handed in 115.58 billion yuan in profits and taxes to state coffers. But at present, it faces great difficulties. One is the insufficient, investment, outdated equipments and no strength of renewal and transformation. The other is poor management, rigid mechanism and heavy losses. So it is urgent to deepen the reform of china's iron and steel industry and invest more in it. |
