| Abstract: | In Shanghai, there are three steel market trends: 1) The prices of steel for capital construction are stable with a slight rise; 2) some plates are of good salability but short of supply; 3) Cold-rolled strip and quality steel are still facing sales resistance and a weak market. In Chongqing, wire rod is in a peak selling period. At present, the knockdown price of 6.5mm wire rod has gone up to RMB 2900/t while of 8mm wire rod hit RMB 3000/t, the latter already being hardly source. In Hilongjiang, steel variety and prices are stable and towards upward. As driven by demand, some types have seen a slight ascending trend in prices. The competition in variety and quality is getting keener and keener. |
