Abstract: | Employees make sense of the organizational context and engage in organizational citizenship behaviors, which are important for the effective functioning of the organization. In this article, the authors test two predictors of organizational citizenship behavior, manager trustworthiness and interactional justice, using fairness heuristic theory. Surveys are collected from 120 employee-supervisor dyads in a business unit in the United States. Based on the results, manager trustworthiness is found to explain variance in organizational citizenship behaviors above the variance accounted for by interactional fairness. |
