Abstract:The article examines the nature of interactions that take place in the context of dyadic trust relationships. Attention is paid to the factors that might have an adverse effect on judgments about the trustworthiness of the other individual in relationship, especially in periods of trouble. Two Dutch companies are investigated to determine how trouble affects the trust level of relationships and what determines the impact of it. The results indicate that clear and explicit expectations, the use of constructive voice, and positive interaction by both individuals are very important in maintaining trust in the relationship.
