Abstract:The study aims to examine the possibilities of creating trust in online communication when face-to-face (herein as: f-to-f.) interaction is missing. F-to f. interaction is usually considered to be a key element in communication. The research question is derived from attribution theory, assuming that the assigning of an interlocutor's similarity to or dissimilarity oneself influences the development of trust. It is shown that similarity in language code preference creates the perception of personal similarity, influencing on the attribution of trustworthiness to the interlocutor etc.
