Abstract:The history of Britain's Ross Consumer Electronics - that can even sell ratios to the Japanese and dominates British headphone market - is described. Its strategy is analysed and it is argued that the key element of its success was the improvement of product quality coupled with good design. Supported by a strong home base, Ross intended to expand exports. At the moment its management seeks for extending its product range and for success in the United States market and it is looking for companies to buy.
