| Abstract: | The article describes an investigation into the strategies and leadership styles adopted in successful independent entertainment companies. The dynamics of the British entertainment industry are analyzed and the strategies and styles of the business leaders assessed. The nature of entrepreneurship in a creative business is also discussed. The study period was 1987/1988 to 1991/1992 and the sample was made up of independent British entertainment companies with a turnover between 10m pounds and 100m pounds who had achieved a minimum 10% compound annual growth rate in sales and profits during the period. |
