| Abstract: | The article introduces a framework for analyzing local residents' attitudes towards tourism by drawing upon an example from Spain. Cluster analysis is used to divide the respondents into five different opinion groups. The results suggest that the local residents recognize both negative and positive effects, and are in some doubt about development proposals which would increase the amount of tourists. In addition, some development strategies face considerable resistance while others are supported. |
