Abstract:A research programme that examines the process of economization is presented in this second part of the article. The first part was published in Economy and Society 38:3, 2009. This second part explores what it would mean to move the research programme established in the first part forwardd by taking processes of economization as a topic of empirical investigation. Given the large number of relationships that produce its many trajectories, to illustrate what such a project would entail the authors have concentrated on the examination of processes they call "marketization". These processes, which constitute but one modality of economization, are discussed here from five vantage points: the things in the market, agencies, encounters, prices and market maintenance.
