| Abstract: | This article discusses changes in executive compensation following an environmental shift at the top management team level.The authors use the context of deregulation in the airline industry. Key findings include a dramatic environmental change that heigtens managerial discretionleading to greater pay level and performance sensitivity of top management team compensation. Furthermore, the greater the magnitude of compensation between team memebers following the environmental shift, the greater the compensation change. |
