Abstract:Two obvious trends characterize China's economic restructuring. One is that national economy is changing from " economy dependent on the government demand" to " economy dependent on the market", the other is that producers have to implement enterprise-style pattern, according to which both the producers and investors must adopt the market-oriented economic model. China's retail price index has been in negative growth for nearly one year and a half since September, 1997. Meanwhile the residents' consumption price index has been sliding below one per cent, which shows that our country has fallen into serious deflation and that demand has become an important factor restricting the nation's economic growth.
