| Abstract: | The potential for the consumption demand may, in the main, result from the following respects, in addition to the income growth: the upgrading of consumption structure; the opening of individual's credit resources; the development of rural market; the socialization of forward consumption. The major choices of the consumption policies in China include the lowering of interest rate of savings in the bank, the levying tax on interest, the raising of salary of public officers and of the expenses standard of the residents in cities and towns, the opening of rural market and increasing the income of peasants, etc. |
