| Abstract: | A national seminar focusing on China's economic growth and domestic demand expansion jointly sponsored by the Economic Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Guo Tai Security Co., Ltd. and the press of "Economic Trend", opened in Beijing during August 16 to 18 in 1999. More than 80 representatives from different scientific research institutions, universities and colleges, and government departments attended the seminar. They discussed China's present situation, analyzed the major problems in the current economic operations and proposed strategic measures and principles for expanding domestic demand and promoting economic growth. |
