Abstract: | This study develops an industrial organization type model to relate resources to the spread btw. product market demand and marginal cost. Competitive advantage (herein as: cmp-adv.) is defined as the cross-sectional differential in this spread, and performance (here as: perf.) as the longitudinal differential btw. what a firm appropriates in the product market and what it paid in the factor market (here as: f-market/s). With f-markets imposing different costs on the innovator and potential imitator/s, cmp-adv., perf., and high resource value do not necessarily overlap etc. |
