Abstract:One employee participation technique, the quality control circle /QC/ is reviewed. Besides estimating the accumulated evidence as to QC efficacy, this paper assesses whether a systematic positive-findings bias exists for this specific technique of employee participation. It is suggested that this bias may be a skill resulting from the inclusion of "popular press" articles with research-oriented studies. The existence of other threats to QC efficacy is also discussed.
