| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to compare income mobility of urban individuals in China and the USA in the 1990s. Among others following questions form the focus of the paper: to what extent are measures of annual income inequality in China misleading indicators of long-run income inequality and how much income mobility was in China in the first half of the 1990s? |
