| Abstract: | Survey of European business leaders on prospects of a barrier-free Europe, based on an analysis of 3,060 executives in the 12 EC countries, who returned 825 questionnaires. 78% of the participants consider EC plan for an internal market a realistic goal. Other major survey findings. Need for homogeneous home market to counter US and Japanese competition. Move to adopt European standards and specifications. Graphs give percentage responses, and separate boxes: low marks of Britons and Danes, and high marks of those of Luxembourg, France and Italy; and possible candidates for a president of Europe. |
