Abstract:Windows Open Services Architecture (WOSA) is a new system supplied by Microsoft Corp., for an easy connection of Windows with enterprise-wide computing environment. The mainframe based WOSA is promised to be "Information At Your Fingertips", still not at marketplace, it is aimed to establish Windows-based desktop PCs as "universal clients" whose application could access and exploit the full range of network-based services and systems. The five basic components of WOSA and the main application areas are presented and explained.
