| Abstract: | The introduction of computer networks offers significant opportunities for organizations to innovate: to open up new business or service opportunities and to reduce costs. From the research reported many organizations are realizing the strategic potential of these systems, but are still struggling with the technical and political problems presented by them. On the one hand, managers have to ensure compatibility and standardization by designing the system centrally, but also have to find ways of ensuring local commitment and support if the system is to be an organization-wide success. |
