Abstract:The fundamental distinction between economics and management science is the difference in human muture hypothesis and understanding of people's mutual relations. In terms of human nature hypothesis, in economics, it is similar to "bad person hypothesis" while in management science, it is similar to "good person hypothesis". In terms of people's mutual relations, economics regards people's mutual relations are equal in personality and status. Management science, however, only admits that people are equal in personality not in status, which means the differences between subject and object, between being active and being passive as well as in function and contribution to organizations. These distinctions lead to a serial of differences between these two disciplines.
