Abstract: | A brief series on plant-level workers' participation and personnel policy is given. Then four key determinants of participation in the United Kingdom,the evolving pattern of industrial relations,legislation,the view of interest groups and the importance of personnel management are analyzed. Six case studies of contemporary practice are discussed. These indicates that the extent of employee involvement is greatly influenced by variations in labour relations,traditions and the type of industry,technology market,work force and management. |
