| Abstract: | Research recently identified close similarities in the behaviour of local managers in Chinese and Hungarian equity joint ventures. These similarities are in contrast with the differences in culture of the two countries. This article considers the reasons for these similarities and in so doing contributes to the debate on the factors which mould organizational behaviour in national contexts. It concludes by examining the modes of host country learning within joint ventures as foreign partners endeavour to change the behaviour of local managers. |
