Abstract:Trainers train, managers untrain. Typically, employees leave the workplace temporarily to attend a training seminar where they learn management skills, sales skills, communication skills, or whatever. Then, they return to the workplace, and nothing happens. There is no support or reinforcement from managers or the company and no behavioural change. Managers can learn to become facilitators in order to train themselves, each other, and other employees. The author of this article shows how.
