| Abstract: | The article examines how companies choose between different governance structures in strategic alliances. Special emphasis is put on the complexity of completing ongoing projects together or individually, and on managing coorination costs in alliances. According to empirical data the governance structure in alliances is influenced by the expected coordination costs and appropriation conserns. |
