Abstract:This article studies the effects of minimum standards in insurance markets. The author studies how the minimum standards are imposed on the market for voluntary private health insurance for the elderly. The author also develops predictions of the impact of imposing minimum standards in an insurance market with adverse selection, in order to investigate possible factors contributing to the impact of the minimum standards.
